in the hazy light i see
a lonely crow a dark green dream
i got no paddle and i got no shoes
im solo in my leaky canoe

the waters only shallow deep
monkeys dip into the river
black and blue moon light up the leaves
cypress branches chuckle and shiver
on the last soft oxbow
the monkeys wave goodbye
they patched my boat with chewing gum
this purple haze is easy on my eye
